Hello listeners! Hopefully it’s more than just my mom, but, if not, hi Mom.
This is the first episode of Foster Adopt Village. It’s mostly introductory in nature, but it lays some important groundwork for where this podcast will go in the future. This time, it’s just me speaking to you, and it may be that way for a while. But on future podcasts there will be guests who know way more than me about helping people navigate this crazy world. I hope you’ll take time to listen and that you’ll subscribe to the show once it’s on iTunes. I especially hope that you’ll interact in the comments section on the website as well as on the Foster Adopt Village Facebook page.
In this episode, I introduce you to our family. Here’s a picture of us (including Gertie, who was snoring on the couch):
And the passage I read from was Genesis 4:5-7.
FOR NEXT TIME
In the comments section, write any questions you have from the previous episode. Also, I’m always looking for guests to have on the show. If you know of somebody I should interview, leave their name in the comments and I’ll contact you for their information. Finally, if there are any topics you want to have addressed, leave those in the comments section as well. As the show progresses, I’ll try to get to as many as I can.

Great job son. Love listening to you speak. You have always been a very genuinely kind and compassionate young man and one there will be so many people you and Christina will encourage supports and help. May God continue to bless our family.

Just wanted to say thank you for creating this podcast! Sarah Stinnett pointed me in your direction, as my husband and I are in the process of becoming foster parents (hope to get our certification in early fall). I so look forward to following along with you! I think a super interesting topic we’d like to learn more about is how foster parents minister to/talk about/pray for biological parents. Also…just the logistics of being foster parents! How did you plan prior to the placement, what did the boys call you before they were adopted, what was the waiting process like?

Woohoo! Thanks Sarah Stinnett for getting word out, and thank you for listening to the show. Best of luck to you as you move forward in the foster certification process and open your home to kids from hard places. We will definitely address the topic of bio parents. That’s something that’s really important to us, and we have a great relationship with our adopted boys’ biological mother. Thanks again for following the show!
